James Mickelburgh
Jensen Hunt Design/ViridiPath
James’ passion for high quality, sustainable design and construction means that he is constantly pushing the boundaries of how engineering is interwoven into successful building projects. With an ethos based on minimising impact James looks to find holistic solutions that go beyond traditional approaches to structural engineering.
Because of this James and his design practice have taken matters into their own hands and have successfully completed their own development project creating highly energy efficient, high quality homes that are loved by their owners and genuinely improve their living experience and well being.
Solving problems is instinctively woven into James’ personality and he is currently looking to combine the construction and tech industries together through collaboration to create innovative software platforms that help to decarbonise building projects, make scope three reporting easier and provide tools and road maps for low carbon, natural material building solutions.
Company Description
JHD is a structural engineering, environmental and development practice run by friends, James and Alex with a focus on high quality, sustainable design and construction/tech innovations to help the built environment decarbonise.
Expanding from structural design to development to innovative software development the practice is constantly evolving and looking to solve environmental and sustainability related problems either through expertise in design, construction or innovation.
A philosophy that looks more at the problems that need solving rather than traditional approaches JHD have created ViridiPath, an innovative software platform that tracks whole life carbon through design stages but has the ability to also calculate scope 3 emissions for individual organisations.
